battery & coil reply
| martin p | talked to the guy that sold me the 8n, wasn't sure if it was a 6volt system but he had a 12volt battery in it. I'm pretty sure it's 6volt, no in line resister and an old generator. checked the line going into the coil and it was hot, but no juice coming out the copper spring on the bottom. it was running about 20 mins. 0n the 12volt until it quit with no spark. think I'll change the coil & volt regulator and see what happens. THANKS you guys, you've been alot of help.

| Jim Loveridge | Thanks for the update Martin. Don't be a stranger on this site. You will be an electrical system expert when you get your 8N running good again.

| Bob G | assume that you got rid of the 12 volt battery! might try your old regulator before replacing. might just work. Good luck |
| martin p | replaced the coil and voltage regulator, still wounld'nt start. regaped the points and lightly sanded the contacts and now my ford 8n runs like a champ. Jim, you were rite, I now know that electrical system pretty good. thanks guys for all your help.
