L785 drive chatter

Pete I have a New Holland L785. I noticed a chatter/clicking sound coming from the right side, the past couple of times I used it. Now, it binds and chatters, when the right lever is pulled. I opened the right drive case, and found metal grit in the oil. The chain looks descent, but the sprockets have some pitting in the saddles between the teeth. Is this enough to make the drive bind, or am I having trouble with the hydra. motor, or hydra drive? How do I tell the difference between them? (The front and rear wheel spin fine.) Thanks, Pete
