I have a Ford 5500 and most parts from a 5000 will fit it but I do not always know when that is not the case. I have ordered a parts catalog so soon I will know the correct part numbers when I need replacements.
The problem is, sometimes I see after-market items for a 5000 but I don't know if these will fit the 5500 since the Ford part number is not necessarily given. As an example, I need a gas tank but I don't know if the 5000 tank will work. My parts catalog will give me the 5500 part number but will probably not tell me if the 5000 tank will work as well.
Is there a list anywhere of part numbers for the 2000-5000 series (or more) and how well they interchange?
Thanks for any help.
Agree this would be a very valuable tool for anyone that owns a "thousand" series tractor. I hope you get some info - I would like to know this myself.
