Ford 1215 Hydrostatic? problem

Dave Lester I have a 1215 that I have had 3 years it has 600 hours on it, all fluids have been changed even took it to New Holland Repair shop. The hydrostatic drive would not allow me to drive in High, when it gets hot the transmission just whines. The repair shop could not duplicate the problem so they only charged me $250 for the “work” they did. However, now, even when I first start it up and press the pedal to go forward in High it will not move, the pedal pushes back and the trany whines and screams. If I then put it in Low and try it will not move, just spin the right rear, so I put in 4wd and try and the left rear wheel will drag a few feet before it SNAPS and starts spinning normally. It is like the brake is on that wheel. Even in neutral the tractor is not free-wheeling and is extremely difficult to tow, the repair people avoided the question by saying some tractors are like that. I don’t know if that has any thing to do with hydrostat problem or not but it fits the situation. I desperately need fixing this problem because it is my primary work horse and can’t be with out it too long.
KOLAWOLE OP LOW PUMP PRESSURE MUSTHAVE CAUSED MAJOR PROBLEM'
CHECK TRANSMISSION PRESSURE PUMP

Moe I have a 1210 that does the exact same thing. Sort of sounds like a powersteering whine, loads the tractor but wont move, shift from high to low, moves slightly, then stops, etc.

I replaced all the filters and fluid and the problem went away and could not repeat it, now back again and wont go away. I did the charge pump relief valve test IAW the manual and am only reading 55 psi, vice the 71 psi in the book.

I need help too on this. Charge pump problem in the hydrostatic maybee? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

dave Thanks, at least I know I am not the only person with this problem. Do you have the repair manual for yours? All I have is the service manual that barely tells you how to change oil. I don't even know where or how to check the pressure.

dave I don't have a clue how to do that!? I talked to the service people again, they were not happy that I would not bring to them, so their answer to that question was not direct. "It's different for every tractor, and takes alot of time to explain and money to do." WHAT EVER!
I get the feeling they don't like me:)

Kolawole O P Do you have a repair manual? If Yes fax A page on hydrostat & trouble shooting to me via E.mail or 234 2 241 2221. I can them help you better.{ I am a professional tarianed in england}.
Richard I have a 1210 that just started this same problem. The forward and reverse pedel do nothing but if I ingage the cluth slowly it will move forward then stops. the repair manual says it is the neutral valves. But to reach them you have to break the tractor in half to get to them. Has any one had any luck with anything else before I have to tear mine down?
Ian I have a 1215 wil 750hrs. The trany is starting to whine. I changed the fluid and filters and no change. It seems to be getting worse (louder more often) but the tranny still works fine. Any ideas?

Tsurashi I also have a 1215 HST that this problem is starting on. Checked fluids, everything is at the proper levels. Only 400hrs on it.

It whines when attempting to reach full speed in high gear. Haven't checked the charge pump relief valve pressure as of yet, is is supposed to be at 55psi or 71psi? Location of where I can find this valve would be appreciated.

Thanks.
