| Johnnie Rumsey | I have a 3930 that will start, but when you let go of the key, it dies. It will run as long as you hold the key in the on position. I removed the switch and took it the parts store. They tested it and said it is fine. The problem must be elsewhere. HELP!

| james | check the limit switch in the trans case that inhibits starting in gear--also the starter soliniod---but first check to see if you have the start, run wires reversed on the start switch.
|
| albak | check the ignition ballast resistor , it will be burnt out.

| A Dawes | we have a 3930 at work that did this, same thing, having to hold the key to run, it ended up being the fuel shut off selinoid, we replaced the selonoid with a manuel cable fuel cut-off, runs fine now. hope you get her figured out.
