||this happened to my tractor too. this may help. take the cover off where u engage the PTO. look in there there is some linkage in there that will come apart sometimes. u can put this back together yourself. just use your head putting it back. don't adjust it to long. the longer u make this the higher it will pick up **** if u go to far you may break something***** The other thing that maybe wrong is the gear on the of the end of the pump is bad. the pump is on the right side of the tractor about middle of the tractor under the battery. if this is bad, make ****DAMN**** sure it is the right one to go back. i had to learn the hard way with a new cam new timing gears and a new gear for the pump $970 later. one other thing it could be is that the valve body that your seat sets on is bad. had to replace that too. the one i put on was off of an (old) ford backhoe. dont know the year or model.
