| Jason | I have a 5610 that stayed in the reverse gear when I shifted to 5th or 1 hi. Its locked and won't come out of reverse. Only has 200 hrs on it! Anyone know how to free it up?

| Hurst | We had this same problem with our 7610 and 6610 II tractors. If yours is a constant mesh transmission like ours (8x2) it is simple. What we did was remove the cover that the shifters are attached to and take it off. Check where the shifters fit to make sure there isn't any "stuff" in it and if there isn't, make sure that everything is moving freely where the shifters fit and when line up the plate and rods under the plate and bolt it back on. This usually happens when you try to push the gear shifter in a place there isn't a gear or shift fast and gets caught up. After doing this to our tractors the transmission has work perfactly. If this doesn't fix it then I would take it to a dealer or repair shop. Also, there isn't a seal or gasket for the shifter plate, so you ust un bolt it and bolt it back on. Make sure you don't get anything down in the transmission! |
