| Andrew Swanson | I have a late 87 1720 with a 7108 loader and about 2000 hours. The bucket will not stay up for very long. In about 5 minutes it will leak down. Is this a cylinder problem, valve problem, or a possible adjustment somewhere. Also, my bucket tilt cylinders leak a little out of the seals, is it a difficult repair to rebuild them, or put new seals in them? Thanks! Andrew

| John P. | Your problem is most likely due to internal leakage inside the lift cylinders (your piston seals are bad). I suggest taking your cylinders to a local hydraulic repair shop.

| Andrew Swanson | Thanks for the information...Heres what I have done to try to isolate the problem. I raised the loader to about eye height, and quickly jumped off the tractor, and uncoupled the quick couplers. The loader held its position. Does this mean the problem is isolated to the control valve? Also on the hydraulic manfold block, the control screw is set to "HYD EQUIPMENT OPERATION" rather then "LIFT LINKAGE OPERATION". Is this correct? Thanks! Andrew
