Ford 801 Powermaster Charging Problem

Charlie I have a Ford 801 Powermaster, 6-Volt, positive ground. I just installed a new battery a month ago, but after a few uses the battery has gone dead. How do I determine if my problem is the generator or the voltage regulator?
WALT @ FARMERS TRACTOR CA. CHARLIE FIND THE FIELD POST ON THE GEN. HOOK A JUMPER WIRE TO GROUND THIS WILL MAKE THE GEN. GO TO FULL CHARGE IF IT'S GOOD. IF IT CHARGES REPLACE THE REG. GOOD LUCK WALT
Charlie Thanks, I'll give it a try.
