Ford 3000 Serial Number

Kurt Maynard I have just purchased a Ford 3000, I found the Tractor Model number;Tractor Production Code and Tractor serial number stamped to the rear of the starter and they are as follows:
Model Number:C1013C (Model 3000-Diesel 8 speed)
Production Code:8L19B (1968-Nov 19 Daytime Shift)
Serial Number:A178383
The serial number is the question, my understanding is the serial number should start with a C-Built in US or B built in England, what does an A stand for?

The A stands for Antwerp. It was assembled in Antwerp, Belgium.

The A stands for Antwerp, Belguim. A B stands for Basseldon, England. The C is American built. Good luck, I hope this helps. Some of the English builts are hard to get parts for and the Belgian builts can be even worse.

Sorry, I misspelled Brasildon. I have seen a couple of responses in this forum that make the assumption that a "Ford tractor is a Ford tractor". That is not so, tractors built in England have some parts that are the same as the American builts but many are different. My dad has been a Parts Manager in a Ford dealership since the late sixties and told me that the Fords built in Europe can be hard to get parts for.

I just bought a 3000 (I think) and have the same dilema. The model number starts with "B" and so does the serial number. I understand how the production code works to date the tractor, but I don't really know what model it is, since I thought that "B" was for a model 2000, "C" for a 3000, etc. Can you shed in light on it? The lights are enclosed in the front grille vs sticking out the sides, and it has two fuel filters vs one, which someone told me indicates a newer model, but I don't know which model it is.

14e73a = may 14 1973 on the day shift ITS BEEN A WHILE SO THESE DIGITS MIGHT BE IN A SLIGHTLY DIFF ORDER

Tim The numbers on my Ford 3000 are not configured in a way that every thing I read says they should be. There are only two parts and the look like this 7E1
*B837582*
I take the tractor was made in England on May 1, 1967. All the other codes, the model and the last digit of the production code, are missing. Also, the headlights are in the lower part of the grill instead of high and to the side. Can anybody explain why my tractor is different?
