ford 5000 pto

Bobby I have a ford 5000 was baling hay the other day working fine stopped for a few minutes turne pto on seemed like it was in a bind and smoke starded coming out around lift arms right under the seat can anyone help thanks
Billy Sounds like pto clutch pack is slipping. Does the pto turn with nothing hookrd to it?
