Hydraulic Quick connect fitting problem

Bryan I have a 92 Ford 1220 with a loader. I went to put in on today and can't get the last quick connect hose into the fitting. It goes in but won't lock. Previouly this happened and I released the pressure in the loader side of the hose and it went right in. Any suggestions would be appreciated
