Ford 2000 Engine quits
| Scott Parsons |
I have a 1974 Ford 2000 (gasoline). I have an issue with the tractor running perfect for an hour or more, then it quits. I have a new Zenith Carb and a new fuel pump, and one of those brass fuel filter casings with a stem of hundreds of brass discs in side as a filter. I have loosened the washers, but it makes no difference how tight they are, when it quits it quits. Today I ran it for an hour and a half, before it started sputtering (after I put on the new fuel pump today), and I noticed that if I pulled the choke, it would not quit, and run slow (a little more than an idle), so I could get it back to the barn. Then in about 5 minutes, it won't run at all, until I leave it set for a while, then it will start and run for maybe 15 minutes before it repats the cycle. Any ideas?
