Ford 3000 stops running when hot

Randy Mecca I have a Ford 3000 gas engine that starts fine and runs fine until it gets hot. It stops running until it cools down again. After started it will run until it gets hot. I replaced the coil, the main gas shutoff valve and had the carb rebuilt last summer. Please help, I'm tired of getting stuck far from my truck. Thanks
hay the thing that comes to mind would be a defective coil, but said that was replaced. try this: start and run the tractor. after about 5 minutes, try to touch the coil after the engine is off. if the coil is literlly "too hot to touch", then replace it. just because electrical parts are new nowdays, does not mean they are any better than the old ones. all electrical is foreign made and sometimes they are not worth a darn. could also be a defective condensor in the distributor.
dave I too have a 3000, and it does the same thing.its about to drive me nuts!if you find your prolblem let me know.ill try a new condensor.
Randy Mecca I had a friend tell me to replace the condensor and pints. I think I found a kit at fordtractorpart.com for $21.00. The kits is a tune up kit for a 3000. I sure hope it worsk, it you do it before I do , let me know. Good luck.
Carnut1948 I have a 1963 2000 LCG in excellent condition and it purrs like a kitten when cold but after about an hour of mowing it will begin to sputter but NOT quit. Points and plugs are new and adjusted both running and stopped dead.

I am running Champion H10C plugs - are these hot enough or should I awitch to AutoLite?

Thanks for any information!!!

Paul

casey The hot problems are generally the condenser. Sometimes the coil even new as stated above and the parts stores know it so once installed you can't take them back. The running rough after warm up is probably due to not setting fuel mixture andd timing as ford recommends. Most fords that run perfect cold are not set right. It should be just a little rich cold. Depends how you want to use it I guess. if its for show leave it but if you're going to use it lean and hot are a bad combination.
