Electrical problem

I have what I believe to be a 1960's 801powermaster. The serial number on the block is CONN 6015J and the serial number on the transmission case is S10835.It also has the "egg crate grill." Anyway it ran fine a few months ago and when I went out today I had no spark. I did notice a crack in the distributor cap and sligth moisture on the points. Should I just replace the point, condenser, rotor, and cap? It's a 12 volt system. Is this something I can do in the woods witha few tools and pretty good mechanical ability? Any help would be appreciated.

| Keith | If there was moisture in the cap it is time to replace it I would replace everything you listed.Yes you can replace all of it in the woods. The book I have shows it to be a 1957 model. 1957 1001 1958 11977 1959 58312 1960 105943 these are the serial numbers for the models years. |
| Joe Sims | 3000 Ford diesel. Generator light does not come on when I turn on the ign switch. The bulb is new so I know it's not that.
