Ford 3000 will not start
|Dave||I just bought a ford 3000 gas tractor yesterday that started but was hard to start. Today the tractor will not start at all. I think it is a 65 model because it has C5 then some more numbers on the case. I also think it has points but not for sure. Any tricks or help would be appreciated to get this tractor running.
|Paul||Just tune up the ignition system. New points, cap, rotor, plugs, and wires should do it. Fords like spark plugs as it is. Also, make sure the gas is turned on in the glass bowl. Otherwise, yeah, you have no fuel.
|Michael L. Mullin||don't give it any gas when you try to start it. Always start with full choke. If necessary spray SMALL AMOUNT of ether into air cleaner compartment before starting.
