ford 601 oil type

Tee i have a ford 601 workmaster gas engine what type oil should i use in the engine and what should i use in the tranmission and in the rear end hope someone can help i do not no the year thanks
Bob Cronkhite I also have a 601 workmaster they were a mid fifties model. I have always used a good 10/40 oil quaker state.
my IT manuel says to use ford spec.# m-4864-a in the hydraulic resavoir, i called a sheell oil dist and they told me that their spirex 80/90 was the same. i have bought that and used it for years, but got to be expensive , the last i bought was from sams club almost half the price.look for their 80/90 withe the red printing.
the same is used in the transmission and differential of your tractor.
I hope this helps you.
Bob
