scott d. TX The tag # on the seat frame is 52702 but no model letter. The engine # 251068R1, below the hyd lines is # 13T.the rear end # 351131-R2.the engine has a water pump, but no dipstick in the side of the block. It has a single front wheel. It has straight brake pedals with bands. It has a mason jar precleaner. It has a distributor.
John M Just a guess, but it could be a C with some sort of replacement engine.Unless the serail number tag is partially destroyed, there should be a model on it, may take some rubbing to find it. The casting code and serial number you posted match up for a 1950 C.However Cs didnt have waterpumps.
scott d. is the letter stamped in like the numbers or just painted on?all paint and print is gone from the tag

John M It should be stamped. May have to do some rubbing to make it out. Also on the engine there should be a stamped number just below the #1 spark plug on the enigne. That will help. The other numbers you posted are part numbers (R1, R2).
billy Hello,
It seems like these things can get more confusing the more you find out. There were some 50 c's that came with the 123 c.i. motor instead of the 113 c.i. of the older C's. AT least in some parts ofhte country, they were trying to get them to carry an early cotton picker that needed more power. The larger displacement necessitated the addition of a water pump. Also, many folks who had heating problems put water pumps on their C even though it did not come out with such. Good luck on your C.
