|Stan Theriault||I have an International model 434 tractor. I'am not sure of the year I think it is mid 1960's. It was working fine when I parked it in the shed two days ago. Today I went to use it,the tractor started fine but when I let the clutch out it stalled even in neutral. I can move the gear shift to all the gears but the tractor stalls as soon as I release the clutch. Also the hi-low range lever will not move.Any ideas. Thank you
|Hugh MacKay||Stan: You say the hi-lo shifter will not move, but which position is it currently in? I suspect the hi-lo is your problem, and is very likely right in that shift lever and linkage. Something must have come apart on that hi-lo shift linkage.
Send me an e mail, I don't know a lot about these, however I know a guy who does. I was going to suggest taking top off transmission, however that may not be necessary. Lets check with an expert first.
|Stan Theriault||Thanks Hugh, the hi-low lever is in the low range .It will not go to high range.Thank you Stan
