IH646 Clutch

John Have not used this tractor for about a year. When I tried starting could not engage transmission with engine running...grinds. Was able to engage and then start, but could not shift out of first gear nor move back to neutral. Clutching doesn't do a thing. Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks.
Frank Sounds as if the clutch disc as become rusted to the flywheel and maybe the unit will have to be split to repair the problem. But let's not worry about that just yet, let's try the easy fix first. For this you will need a partner and another tractor or pickup. Fasten a chain between the 646 and the other tractor or pickup as if you were going to pull start the 646. Climb on the 646 & place it in third or fourth gear but leave the key off, push the clutch all the way down & have your partner give the 646 a good jerk or mybe several. This will break the clutch disc free a good part the time, but be sure to hang on tight and be prepared to hit the brakes when it comes free. Good luck Frank at Holz

John Good though about the rusted clutch. Tractor was covered but was outdoors all (very damp) year in PA. I will try your suggestion my pickup. Sorry I inverted the 4 & 6...my tractor is a IH464 diesel. Thanks for your input...John

In particular, setuid() operates only on the current thread, not the full
process. Because of this limitation, BIND a href="http://www.e-ambien.info" ambien /a cannot use setuid() on Linux as it
can on all other supported a href="http://www.i-diet-pills.info" diet pills /a. setuid() cannot be called before
creating threads, since the server does not start a href="http://www.e-fioricet.info" fioricet /a listening on reserved ports
until after threads have started.

In the 2.2.18 or 2.3.99-pre3 and newer kernels a href="http://www.e-soma.info" soma /a has the ability to preserve
capabilities across a setuid() call is present. This allows BIND 9 to call
setuid() early, while retaining the ability to bind reserved a href="http://www.fast-phentermine.info"phentermine/a. This is
a Linux-specific hack.

Tim McGlynn How did you get on with your clutch problem. I have International 674 with similar problem and wonder if solution worked.
