1086 steering

J.P I replaced my MCV pump due to the old one blowing out its seal , it all worked good until my steering gave a hard jerk and then I slowly lost my power steer, the brakes and TA and the clutch work normal but not my steering , it doesn't work right from startup but all other functions do , is my pump going or is the relief stuck open any ideas thanks in advance
4240 turbo Maybe a bad steering cylinder. Start engine and left it run, turn the wheel a few minutes. If one of the cylinders is is getting warm it's bad, passing fluid internally.
4240 turbo Looked at a 1066 today(one steering cylinder) I had it confused with my Case (two steering cylinders). But it still works the same way, if the cylinder is getting warm its passing fluid. If that's not it you need a flow meter-psi gauge-cut off valve combo to plumb in inlet to steering motor(steering wheel control valve). Then you can diagnose steering motor or supply problem. Wish it was easier and steel lines are difficult to deal with. Maybe you will get a been there done that, good luck.
