international 766

michael davis I have 766 international with 3 point lift and steering issues. The lift will raise up with a load on it but it pulses up and down about 2 inches and makes hissing noises. Is this a faulty relief valve. The steering also freezes up. sometimes you can throttle it up and you have steering pressure again. It makes a screaching noise like the fluid is bypassing somewhere.Anyone have any ideas about my problem?
jim Most likely cause of power steering problem is filter restricted. If the bypass screen on filter is full of crap you know filter is restricted. Also, make sure the 0-ring on filter cover is good. Hitch hicoughing might be cause by aeration of oil also, but most likely you have a leaky hitch cyl. It drops down and then system tells it to correct it self. The hissing on hitch is also most likely caused by filter restriction. Water in fluid will ice up the filter also causing the problems described.
