544 hydro, won't hold back

Daniel Spencer I have a 544 hydro runs and pulls great, but won't hold back going down hill. Have changed fluid and filters, It sat for about 5 years before i got it.
jim I think think it is one of the capsules in the drive control valve. There are two but I would have to do some research in book to see which one might be the problem. Been a long time since I worked on them much. It could also be the shuttle valve in center section of transmisson. I you were to depress foot n inch pedal and brake to a stop without moving the speed ratio lever, then see if it will drive in reverse immediately with no lurch that should most likely eleminate shuttle valve. If it hesitates to go in reverse suspect shuttle.
