1976 - 966 international forward gears

Hope some one can give me a starting point. i was out picking bales and when I unloaded the tractor would not go forward. Reverse stil works fine. The clutch seems a little softer then normal but still works to allow the reverse to engage. I thought I had smelt something while picking but all was working fine. It does not make a difference with the TA forward or back. The levers seem to move the complete path they are supposed to just nothing there for the forward, hi or low.

Sounds like the shift fork is off the rail in range transmission. Remove side cover and you will be able to deterimine if that is what happened. If so , you will need to remove range transmission cover to repair.
