I have a 1960 International 460 that is having power steering problems. It sort of works but mostly doesn't. I may very well have caused the problems. I was having trouble with the hydraulic valves that came with the tractor and I got tired of messing with them. I replaced them with an after market valve assembly. I just made a separate mount for the valves and plumbed the hydraulic supply to the new valve block. I did not change the power steering supply or return. Does it require back pressure in the main hydraulic line to supply oil to the power steering? The main hydraulic supply and the power steering supply come out separately from the pump cover. Is there some sort of flow divider as part of the pump assembly?
