FARMALL 200 compression

| Hugh MacKay | Kenny: I understand your questioning that, however believe it or not these little engines will run and work quite if the are well tuned. I have a 130 here, all cylinders are between 50# and 55#. I plowed my snow with it all winter. It sits in an unheated shop and it never failed to start even at temps as low as -10F. It always fired up in less than 10 seconds cranking. |
| rich4 | As an experiment, put about a teaspoon of ATF oil down the sparkplug hole and retest the compression. If the compression comes up then the rings are worn, if it does not change then the valves need to be ground. But like Hugh says it may run for a long while yet and do work.

| Hugh MacKay | Rich: I'm not sure it would do much heavy work, although they can surprise you. As I said I plowed snow with my 130, not real rugged engine work. This spring I hitched it to my 20 blade disk with new 18" blades. Running the disk axle deep for roughly 3 hours in second gear she actually stopped smoking. I ocasionally throw in a container of STP motor job in a can. Really on the disk, I don't see much difference between it and my 140 with a close to perfect engine. |
| rich4 | Hugh, I am somewhat surprised your 130 can pull that disk but not really, our TO-20 Furguson surprised us all the time, it even puled 2-16" plows in clover ground. Now people recommend a M to pull 2-16".
