986 fuel tank
| leroy cronin | i am looking at a 986 international to buy it has a sucked in fuel tank dealer said this is common vent plug and tank suck in. is this true, can you use air pressure to pop it back? how much is a use tank. thanks |
| MGS | Yes, it's a common problem. I've never tried to pop one back out and I've never had anyone replace the tank, they jut live with the collapsed tank.

| jim | I've often been tempted to try blowing them back into shape some what anyway but I would use a very long air hose and a regulator to very gradually increase the pressure. I would bet someone , somewhere has tried it. I guess I would not try it until I had another tank lined up for replacement if it doesn't turn out.
