Farmall super A implements
|DJ||My grandfather had a 1952 super A and I have inheritied it this summer. It came with a snow plow, belly cultivator set, one blad bottom plow, and post auger. I do not have any of the manuals for the implements and am having difficulty with the bottom plow. I have plenty of pictures of cultivators on the tractor from surfing the net, but none for the plow. I want to order a manual for the bottom plow so I can make sure I put it on correctly, but I can't figure out if it is an A-91 or A-189. The serial number on the bottom plow is 512504R1. I would greatly appreciate assistance from any experieced Super A owners.
|Hugh MacKay||DJ: What your calling a serial number is actually a part number. All IH numbers ending in R1, R2, etc. R anything are all part numbers. Those plows don't have a serial number.
It will take a photo to nail down the model number of your plow. Those plows have many of the same parts and too close to call without a photo.
here is a picture of the plow. For some reason, it only allows me to attach one picture. I am also going to attach a picture of a tractor with the belly cultivators like the ones I have for my tractor. I would also be interested in knowing what these cultivators are called or refered to.
here is a picture of the type of cultivators I have for my super A. Is this called a 2 row cultivator?
here is a picture of the plow.
|Harry Bjorkland||I have had terrific luck with finding manuals for all IH stuff from Binder Books. They have a website, www.binderbooks.com, that you can go to and they may list a phone number to call also. I'm not at home so I can't give you the phone number.
