Farmtrac 665 won't start
| Dove Hill Farm | Need help , Farmtrac 665 DTC wont start. Starter solenoid went out, replaced it, but get a small click when turning key. Engine turns over if you jump the starter, but wont key start. Tried changing the starter switch, still the same. Battery and ground are good. Any suggestions? Is their a coil or voltage regulator? | Beth | Rick, Had same problem with my 555DTC. I had to disconnect the 2 wires coming out of the transmission (right in front of gear shift). Follow them up to the first splice behind the dash. Then I jumped the 2 together. This bypasses all the Neutral and clutch safeties, but it was the only way I could get it started. Good luck, Beth |
| Dove Hill Farm | OK, I had the battery tested and it's strong, replaced the ground cable and re-grounded it to the starter block bolts. Bi-passed the neutral safety switch and still it wont key start. It just makes a small click sound. I can jump the starter and the motor turns over, but won't ignite. I primed the fuel line. Maybe it is some other senor or safety switch that's cutting off voltage?? Any ideas anyone?? Rick |
