20 HP Kohler on Craftsman YTS3000 Stalls on full throttle
| JDS | I have a new (3 months old) Sears Craftsman YTS3000 yard tractor with a 20 HP Kohler Pro engine. Last week, when I was cutting my lawn I accelerated full throttle and the engine started to cut out - it felt like i was running out of gas - only i had plenty of fresh gas in the tank (just filled). It doesn't matter what speed the engine is running at, if i attempt to "step on it" the tractor dies. I'd say i can depress the pedal about 80% before it starts sputtering (and yes, it cuts out if I depress all the way). Anyone have any ideas? |
| Tom | Have you checked for a governor ? Sometimes (if you have one) it gets a bunch of grass and weeds around it causing it to get "stuck" and not work as intended . Let's hope it's something simple like that .

| JDS | Found it! After calling Sears support, they said to check the switch under the seat which connects to the PTO, seat cut-off and pedal. Well, that switch was fine, but i followed the wires along and found another connector that was not completely connected. Squeezed it together and everything works great now! |
