Cub Cadet 3240 mower will not engage year is 2001

joe hogan Help please. Tractor and mower had been running and mowing great until yesterday when one of the PTO belts broke. I replaced both belts but now the mower deck will not engage. I replaced the solenoid vacuum actuator but still nothing. The actuator-vacuum seems to be working but I am unsure on that. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance for your time and knowledge.
James Are you sure the belts are routed correctly? And are the correct belts.
flybone had the same problem, first with running engin and deck lever activated i looked at the vac puller , if it did not pull at all or all the way down
1. took the vac line of the solenoid and check vac with the gauge or just the finger. if Ok
2. check the vac at the vac actuator same way as
i assume the puulies ar tutning and the belt too.
and if you "help" the vac actuator hard enoug you can get the deck working ..

I took vac actuator off opened is and glewed it together and it worke for 6 month. now the vac actuator pulls and the deck works but at lower speed and the belts slide at harder grass.
when I "help" the actuator by pulling hard, the deck increases to the normal speed . Now I orderd a new vac actuator . hope that helps.

it also could be the vac source, th manifold and cleanig that would be first. Than the vac is not stong enoug or changes,
