| C Green | I just bought a FarmPro 2420 with a FarmPro 5ft finish mower. Keep in mind I've only put 3hrs on it so far but I really like it. After picking my tractor up I stopped by Lowe's to buy a diesel can and saw a TroyBuilt riding mower that cost more than my tractor! I think the FarmPro mower was a really good buy. I gave 500 bucks for it new. It appears to be a fairly accurate Chinese copy of a KingKutter. It mows nice and even and I'm very satisfied with it. I'll try to post more when I get a few more hours on the tractor.

| JohnS | Not sure if the Farm Pro finish mower is the same JM rear finish mower, or if it has recently been updated, but previous versions of JM mower have had a few issues with the wheels and blades breaking. Just something to keep your eye on. JohnS

| Clint | I just ordered a FarmPro rotary cutter. Suppose to be in next Saturday. I'll let you know what I think about it when it comes in. I now have about 8 hours on my 2420 and the only thing I have had go wrong is it shot a brake light bulb. (Yeah, they have tail lights and brake lights) It might have been shot when I got the tractor. Either way I called FarmPro customer service and they are sending me a couple of bulbs under warranty. I was Very impressed with the way I was treated by Customer Service! At the 8 hour mark I'm still very satisfied.

| Clint | My 2420 now has 12 hours on it and I'm still very satisfied. Thinking I might change the oil this weekend. Any oil weight suggestions? I bought the Farm Pro 4' Rotary Cutter and have used it for about 3 hours now. I'm well pleased with it CONSIDERING WHAT I PAID FOR IT ($350 new/assembled). It is definately a light to medium duty cutter. The framing & gear box are not nearly as heavy or well reinforced as my big Bush Hog Squeeler but then again it was about $800 cheaper than a Bush Hog! I'm using the FarmPro cutter around my house on mostly tall grass/weeds/vines/small brush and I think it should do just fine for my light duty residential use. I've run through some small brush (1-1.5") that it handled fine but I would not recommend heading out through a pine thicket. One thing that did stand out is the fact that the FarmPro cutter did not have a grease fitting where the rear wheel vertical shaft goes through the frame. I drilled a hole in my frame and tapped it for a grease fitting so I could keep the wheel shaft lubed. I think this is a MUST DO if you buy one! It was amazing how much eaiser the vertical shaft spun one it was greased. Overall I'm more impressed with the FarmPro 5' finish mower than the 4' rotary cutter but for $350 new I would definately recommend it as a "BestBuy" for light to medium duty residential use. I'll try to take some photos this weekend before I get it too dirty.

| Brady | Thanks for your continueing input on the FarmPro tractor. I just had mine delivered this morning with a 5 foot finish mower. It will be stored in my garage until this fall when it will go to its final destination mowing 5-6 acres. Any and all information on the tractor, mowing, etc. will be greatly appreciated as I am brand new to all of this and it will be a great learning process. My mowing experience is with lawn tractors, push mowers, etc, so all information, maintenance tips,etc will be truly appreciated. Thanks

| Bruce | Does anyone know what OEM replacement filters can be used on the Farm Pro 2420? I was hoping someone has already figured out what Fram or STP or some other standard brand filters can replace the oil and fuel filters...any help would be greatly appreciated!

| CW MEEKS | the fram ph3950 works perfectly for the 2420. if you want to use another brand of filter,be certain to use a caliper to measure the dia. and width of the other filter.those dimension must match the fram's to a high degree.check the fram anti drain back valve . many times this valve is glued closed because of a manufacturing defect.the stuck valve can be freed with a soaking of motor oil and a blunt tool.when i said to measure the filter with a caliper I mean you should measure the base gasket. I will check the fuel filter on my 2420 for a part no. and post it asap. i know it's a napa gold filter . cw |
| CW MEEKS | I use universal transmission/hydraulic fluid from tractor supply in my 1420.After draining the trans. clean the plug and attach one of those high strength permanent magnets to the plug. check the engine valve lash as soon as possible and adjust if needed.my tractor's injection pump timing was too far advanced. our local diesel shop said I could have burned holes thru pistons if i had continued to operate with too much advance.hope this helps. cw |
