Caterpillar D-6 steering clutch problem
|jim||After the tractor has set for a period of time the left steering clutch works fine the first time I use it. After that it will not work at all. Brake band out of adjustment? Linings worn slick? What's my problem. Thanks
|hector gemme||Wich D6 model you have
|jim||I believe it is a D-6B. It is an old cable operated tractor. No hydraulic blade.
|hector gemme||Did you removed the drain plug under the stering cluch housing maybe full off water and readjuste the brake and if the linnings are to bad you need the change them
|hector gemme||I forget some D6B had wet stering cluch and brake
|Jim||I don't think this one is a wet clutch.
|Jim||No I haven't tried that but I sure will. Thanks a lot.
