D8 cat

david D 8 cat plow bleeds down when in up pission will lift up front of machine and hold thow please help

Mike O It sounds like you are loosing pressure if I am reading the question correctly. The cylinders would be my 1st guess. When were they rebuild? Take them to any hydraulic shop for rebuilding or testing. The loss of pressure in the up position can be a sign of piston seal failure. There can also be a seal bad in the valve block. If that is not the problem we will follow the problem from back from there.

jc joe I have a cat D8 13a series! I need ideas on right levers to shift/engage that would enable me to start the big engine once I have the pony engine running!
Ralph you have three levers; the rear is high or low range [how fast the big engine is turned] if it takes too much power to turn in high then start of in low until it turns easier. The other two levers are clutch [over center type] and pinion. First engage pinion, then lock clutch with range lever in either low or high range with compression released ; then engage compression , then open throttle . It should make smoke and start
