I just bought a cat 977 was told it's a mid to late 60s machine. I cant find the ser # plate. Where can I find the ser # so I can order a book. I dont know if its just a 977 or L ect anyone help me? thanks

YOUR 977 is he straik shift or power shift automatic and the serie number should be on back housing on left side and on left side motor when you are on seat.

my 977 has low reverse high 1-2 and low 1 high 2 forward. I just run in low-1 or pull it into high-2 for speed I will look for ser# where you told me. thanks steve

Your 977 must 977h serie 53a and have a spair parts manual

Great news Hector I found the ser # machine is a 977 H 53A5379 and idea WHAT YEAR IT IS? she is a good running machine.
