D4 7U Ponymotor
| Joseph White | Don't seem to have throttle controll for pony. Pull throttle knob and linkage moves on pony carb but still wants to run wide open. Governor linkage seems to be all hooked up. Is there a spring anywhere to pull throttle to idle.

| hector gemme | You should have 1 spring on the governor control |
| Joseph White | Hector thanks for the info. Governor seems to work. With throttle butterfly closed ponymotor wants to run wide open. Replaced gaskets between bowl and carb throat and doubled the baseplate gasket to make sure no air leaks but still have no change with throttle rod pulled out or pushed in. Checked throttle plate to make sure its closing and it is. What is the adjustment on top of the bowl its a needle valve with a pass through hole that sits in a seat? It sounds like an air leak around the throttle butterfy but it seems to be fairly tight with little shaft wear.

| hector gemme | The amount of fuel is reduced by turning the the top screw clockwise thus varying the seating of tip of the screw in the hole and changing the effective size of the hole.

| robert purcell | Hi, I had this problem when I replaced the carb on my d47u, It turned out to be the idle screw wound in to far. The screw is turned anti clockwise to slow the motor down. Hope this helps.
