Pony Clutch and Pinion..

Billy When we starting D4 2T they other day the pony ran out of petrol. When we tried to start it again it was to hard to pull the rope. We could see the fan moving very slowly when we turned the pony flywheel. Even with the clutch disengaged it still did it. We can pull the pony over qucik enough to start it. ANY HELP PLEASE
Billy Mistake in last sentence. We CAN NOT pull the pony motor over quick enough to start it.
hector gemme You should desangaged too the poney cluch lever .
FELGAR_1 Pull both handles to the front of the tractor and turn your diesel engine backwards alittle. this useally gets the pinion to pop out(at least thats what mine does) and then start the pony engine. If the pinion grinds when you try to ingauge it the pony clutch is stuck and you will have to remove it and take it apart to clean it. Mine did this acouple of times. It was getting water in it and rusting. Causing the clutches to stick.
billy Thankyou felgar 1 that infomation was helpful. I cleaned out the clutch put some new oil in it and it worked thanks very much.

Billy
