pony motor conversion to electric start

Ron I have a cat D2,5u wet clutch. I want to change over to electric start but want to leave pony motor complete. Dozer already has the hole and studs for a starter. It has a plate with a gasket where the starter goes. What type of starter do I need, and does anyone have a starter pinion gear off of a pony motor, and is that all I need to convert it?
hector gemme
HI My d2 parts book pages 202 give me a tartor 24volt 5h764 and you need 2 batteri 12volt, new generator and regulator, new switch and rewirring .

Ron Is that a delco starter?Do you know where i can get a starter pinion gear off of a pony motor?
hector gemme HI I recheck my manual parts but he did't give me if it is a DELCO but with the parts number dan I give you your CATERPILLAR dealer could help you for the gear and that startor maybe have a gear on.
John If you can e-mail a photo of the opening with the plate removed as well as the distance between mounting studs and the diameter of the pilot hole, we can provide a starter.

Thanks

John

Ron I have good news. I went to Old Magnets Image Shack and got all the information I needed to finish to electric start on my D2. I put a delco 40mt 12v starter on it. The 12v starter works great it has no problem turning over the deisel. I had to put a new drive end housing which was called an offset flange.and I had to order a new starter drive which was a right helix gear, clockwise rotation. I ordered both parts from a ebay store by the name, Triodiode. I would like to thank Old Magnet and everyone else that replied to my questions.
