I have a cat D2,5u wet clutch. I want to change over to electric start but want to leave pony motor complete. Dozer already has the hole and studs for a starter. It has a plate with a gasket where the starter goes. What type of starter do I need, and does anyone have a starter pinion gear off of a pony motor, and is that all I need to convert it?

If you can e-mail a photo of the opening with the plate removed as well as the distance between mounting studs and the diameter of the pilot hole, we can provide a starter. Thanks John

I have good news. I went to Old Magnets Image Shack and got all the information I needed to finish to electric start on my D2. I put a delco 40mt 12v starter on it. The 12v starter works great it has no problem turning over the deisel. I had to put a new drive end housing which was called an offset flange.and I had to order a new starter drive which was a right helix gear, clockwise rotation. I ordered both parts from a ebay store by the name, Triodiode. I would like to thank Old Magnet and everyone else that replied to my questions.
