injector pump david brown 1200

sam un on iam in the process of installing a rebuilt simms pump on my 1200and have verified that the timing marks are correct and it does appear to start up fine but with a little too much white smoke until it warms up. in setting the timing for the pump i hav one mark on the mounting plate ,but there are 2 on the pump about 1/2 inch apart .my question is which mark to align to and secondly the injector lines for some reason seem to be in a slightly different position that will requireslight bending to mate uo the marks.. thanks in advance for your help sam
