case ih 275mfd kingpin/pinion shaft orientation on front drive
| Mike | I am in the process of installing new hubs on a Ace IH 275 mfd 4 wheel drive tractor. It was built by Mitsubishi uses the same or very similar front drives as the MT 300D. My question concerns the pinion shaft that drives the front wheels, part # 69541-61501. The splines on one end have a stop that prevents the gear from moving beyond a point on the shaft. The other end does not have this, the gear can move all the way to the bevel where the splines taper to the shaft toward the middle. Should the end with the stop on the splines go to the top or to the bottom of the spindle. I can send pictures if it helps and any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance, Mike |
| AJ | Above is the drawing of the Case IH 275 final drive,is yours like it as your part numbers are not listed, the only shaft in the drawing that is vertical is number 4,if I was assembling that the shoulder end I would put to the bottom. AJ |
