Cannot remove the lower swivel housing caps (4x4), top caps slipped off easly, I think they were originally assembled without grease and now froze up. Any tips?

Cannot remove the lower swivel housing caps (4x4), top caps slipped off easly, I think they were originally assembled without grease and now froze up. Any tips?

Dick Thompson	Auction rig, front drive shaft missing and pinion shaft broken off. Need to disassemble whole front diff to replace parts but lower swivel caps seem to be frozen on. Unable to rebuild diff without removing axles. all parts avaliable, just need a little info - I hate to use heat on the cast iron, Thanks, Dick T.
alrman	these can be quite difficult to remove - usually continue hitting the edge of the king pin & try to get it to move by twist motion, hit it one way then the other - put some penetrating oil in through swivel housing - I usually drive a couple of old screwdivers under the flange, 180 deg apart - hit & twist - keep perservering they will come!
