89-90 case 580k running issues

jasonf	we have a 89-90 580k, it will run for sometimes 20 minutes and die out and then wont start back up, but if you let it sit for awile then it will start up again after cranking it for awile. any suggestions?
AJ	That sounds like there is a fuel blockage either the filters are plugged or there is a blockage in the line,580K's had two spin on filters and one inline filter between the tank valve and feed pump,I would start at the valve by removing the pipe and making sure that there is a good flow leaving the tank,the tank vent is in the cap and it needs to be clean,with a good flow replace the inline filter before the feed pump,fill the two new spin on filters with clean fuel and screw them on,you now need to bleed the system,open the bleed screw on the banjo bolt at the filters,kick the engine over by jabbing the starter till you have good pressure on the priming pump lever,open the two bleed screws on the injector pump,operate the priming lever till clear fuel comes from the bleeder on the banjo bolt and close it,keep on priming till clear fuel comes from the bottom screw on the pump and close it,finish with the top one,keep on priming till the lever goes limp,loosen each injector pipe on top of the injectors a couple of turns,on full throttle spin the engine over on the starter till fuel starts to spurt from the unions,tighten up the pipes and start the engine,the feed pumps can and do fail,they are sealed units and have to be replaced should they fail. Case part # for the inline filter D139225,the two spin on's comes in a kit A77470 AJ
jasonf	so i got the tractor running i let it idle for like 10 min and i notice it started to idle differently after getting warm, my phone rang so i shut down the machine. when i went to start it again it would just crank and not start up. ???????????? Thanks AJ for ur reply
jasonf	it ended up being the lift pump
adam chambers	i have a case 580 backhoe and all the filters and fuel have been changed and cleaned .it runs for a couple of minutes and shuts down. it will start back up but it continues to do it again.my friend told me it might be a fuel pump cylonoid is anything to this
AJ	What model is it there are different engines in the 580's AJ
Mike	AJ, having a similar problem with a 580K, have replaced all the filters, shut-off solenoid, and lift pump. Bled the system down, and only getting small squirts from the injectors when loose (maybe 6-8 inches). Thinking the injection pump may be shot, and not getting enough pressure built up to reach pop-off pressure on the injectors, thoughts? I do know it has been run out of fuel several times (when borrowed), so thinking lack of lubrication didn't do any favors...
