480c new injector pump replaced , new problem?
| Ed | Replaced the pump over the winter started it up back then ran fine high revs full power . Now used it 3 weeks ago {first time since installation] Ran fine did the job no problem . Over the weekend needed to move some stone and tractor had no power at all , couldnt move a load of dirt , had no RPMs nothing ,tractor could barely go foward or reverse . Giving full throttle did not increase rpms . before I go nuts and take everything apart again .Any ideas ? fluids & filters are new as but a year old but with no time on them . any ideas , direction I should go inwould be big help Thnks Ed |
| AJ | Could water have got in,take the bottom filter off and see what is in it,while the filter is off check the flow coming out of the tank,if you have a good flow and the diesel is clean with no water or gunge in it put the filter back on,check the restrictor valve on the return line elbow on the pump top cover,if that gets blocked it causes bad running. | Ed | thanks AJ Im away for the rest of the week but as soon as I get back will give that a shot .{checking elbow} I drained some fuel already but didnt remove filter , fuel looked clean no water .will pull filter though and check flow . Ed |
| AJ | If the fuel is clean no need to remove the filter, when you remove the elbow the fuel should run out if all is well,if it does not see why, there is a filter under the inlet pipe on the back of the pump, seldom it blocks as the fuel has passed through the two filters before it gets there but!,the outlet from the tank is always my first suspect. | Ed | When checking the return elbow NO CHECK BALL . From the looks of it it seems there was never one at all . Will have to check with case and see if I can get one. With that said I refired it up and it ran a bit better some surging ,bleed fuel again running a little better .got it sitting at 2/3 rpm now to clean it out will see how it does in 1/2 hour . Thanks AJ Ed |
| Ed | AJ thanks for the help. She seems to be back in top form once again . Must of got a little air in system somehow . Thanks again Ed |
