1967 Case 580CK

Paul I just started the machine after a long winter. It started just fine, the backhoe hydraulics seem to be OK. When I lifted the loader, I got to about 80% the maximun lift hieght when it stoped then jerked and lifted a little and then jerked again. I got the loader to go all the way up, but it wasn't smooth. Any idea why the hydraulics would act 'choppy' like that? I let it warm up for about 20 minutes, I haven't checked the fluid level yet.
AJ I think you should check the fluid as it sounds like its low, could there be water in the bottom that could be frozen and blocking the suction strainer.
