580c smoking

joel i was running down the road the other day with my 580c power shuttle (1st time) i was in 4th when i approached a hill got about halfway up it then it wouldnt go any further so i down shifted got up the hill shifted back into 4th and by time i got to the end of the 1/2 mile road there was smoke coming from under the machine (brake wasnt on) so i let it sit the smoke went away i just dont know if i hurt anything
AJ Did you look to see where the smoke was coming from,I suspect that the forward clutch is slipping because you could not climb the hill, check the oil level in the shuttle,it is done with the engine running on low idle,if the oil pressure is low the forward/reverse clutch can slip,to determin whether its a pressure issue or the clutch pack is worn a pressure test would need to be done.
