Ford 8N 6-volt ammeter wiring

tbird75 How do I go about wiring in an ammeter on my ford
8N (6-volt system)?

I was thinking that I should use 10 guage wire,
run it from the Hot (-) side of the terminal block
to the + side of the ammeter and then run the
- side of the ammeter to the main terminal of the
starter solenoid, but I'm not sure if I have this
completely backwards or just bass ackwards. Thanks
