old lawn tractors

I have two old lawn tractors I'm getting ready to tinker with. Both run good and are both straight and complete. I would like to know the years or close to when they were in production. The first one is the Lowes Richard Petty edition and the next is a Craftsman 6HP wit the Delco starter/generator and splined shaft blade drives and the magnesium deck. Any help or ideas would be appreciated. One gentleman told me he thought he saw an article on the lowes in popular mechanics or one of the 60/70's magazines
