My Neighbor is offering me a 1971 John Deere Riding mower, How much should I pay for it?

Brendan My Neighbor is offering me a 1971 John Deere 60 Riding mower, How much should I pay for it? The riding mower is almost rust free and does run. Minor csmetic problems, but otherwise in good condition. Any suggestions?
bontai Joe Taking into consideration that i have not seen it or heard it run, and I am assuming that it comes with a mower deck and no other attachments, I have seen these sell for arond $150 to $200. Be aware that the Tecumseh motor in this model was a special motor only used by Deere and has been out of production for decades, new parts are impossible to find except for spark plugs. I am not sure about air filters, probably something out there will fit. Should the motor ever crap out on you, there is no engine out there that will easily "drop in" as a replacement. That's the negative part.... The positive part is that these machines although small, were very durable strong mowers, easily better than similar machines from other manufacturers in it's class. There is a Deere specific forum at www.weekendfreedommachines.com that has a lot of info on these.
