hyd post puller/hoist

Mark Got an old implement manf by Western Farm Eq in Hastings NE, it is a hyd post puller? Long hyd cylinder with a wheel at the top with a cable run through it. It has a singe hyd hookup and I can not find any info on the company or the tool. I got the info off the tag on it, but there is no model number that I can find. Not 3 pt mounted, so not sure what brand it fits. Thanks
RustyFarmall It sounds to me like the cylinder is a lift cylinder for an older tractor mounted front end loader. Many of the older loaders used a single cylinder mounted vertically on the front of the tractor, with a pulley on the top, and a cable running through it, which was then attached to the loader frame. It was a somewhat crude arrangment, but it worked. You might do a web search for Hastings, Nebraska, maybe you will find someone that knows part of the history of the Western farm equipment company?
Mark Lowe Thanks for the reply, I looked further and there is a label on the front of the cyd that says Tractor Mounted Utility hoist, has a picture of a cat, and says either predator or something like that. One side brace shows Ford or ? . That gives me a little more info, but still have not found anything on the net about it. If this is any help, would appreciate any info you have. Thanks
