The plow that I inquired earlier here about has been determined to be an Oliver two bottom. The original color of the plow is still in question, as I have heard that this plow was red and not the normal Oliver green. Can anyone enlighten me? Thanks

Can't enlighten you too much, but Oliver did use red paint on some of their machinery. I parted out an Oliver plow awhile back but I have no idea what model it was. I did save the moldboards, and they had traces of green paint remaining on the back side. There wasn't enough left of the rest of the plow to show any color at all.

My dad had a Oliver two bottom plow and it was in very good shape. The color was red and it had spring loaded jaws that would lock on the clevis attached to the tractor. Those jaws were a safety device in case you hit a rock it would release, but you had to be quick with the clutch to stop. We had a rope tied to the seat of our Oliver 70 tractor which we pulled to to trip it and the same to raise it. I don't remember the number of the plow but we still have that old 1948 Oliver of my dad's and it still working.
